ADvantage Elements and ADvantage v2.0 Provide Microsoft® Active Directory® Administrators Flexible Management Options

(Edgewater, MD - 10.07.2003) Javelina Software, LLC, today announced the release of ADvantage v2.0, featuring 10 new tools for managing Groups and Contacts, and the release of the first of five new ADvantage Elements,AD:reporter, a stand alone Active Directory reporting solution. ADvantage Elements provide administrators with a cost effective solution for managing their Active Directory data.

AD:reporter is a new tool that gives administrators the flexibility to harvest data from Active Directory, in easy to read reports. AD:reporter enables administrators to report on attributes associated with users, groups and contact objects. For each tool, admins may select from a list of “common properties” typically associated with each object or they may select from the complete list of attributes for the object. Administrators can easily use the filters to report on veryspecific information. All options are presented in easy to navigate point and click dialogs. AD:reporter allows users to export their reports to a CSV file. All reports saved may later be imported into other ADvantage Elements for immediate action on associated tasks.

The new features in ADvantage v2.0 almost double the size of the current product, adding the ability to manage Groups and Contacts with the inclusion of 10 new tools: Add Group, Modify Group, Delete Group, Search and Replace Group, Group Reports, Add Contact, Modify Contact, Delete Contact, Search and Replace Contact, and Contact Reports. In addition to the host of new tools in ADvantage v2.0, there are many enhancements to the current tools, including the ability to add multiple email address aliases, add or modify dial-in attributes and the capability to generate random passwords using advanced criteria. “The inclusion of group and contact tools in ADvantage rounds out the management capability of ADvantage, enabling our customers to do their jobs more efficiently than ever before” states David Ritchie, President of Javelina Software. “We are also proud to offer a solution to administrators who have very specific sets of tasks to accomplish, and may not need a toolbox as stocked as ADvantage. For these administrators we offer the ADvantage Elements, because it offers them the flexibility to purchase only those Elements they truly need.”

Following AD:reporter, the next ADvantage Elements to be released will be AD:user, AD:search, AD:group, and AD:contact. ADvantage Elements allow administrators to capitalize on the tools in ADvantage by allowing them to purchase only those Elements needed. Administrators who own any Element and decide to upgrade to ADvantage, will be offered a special upgrade price.

Pricing and Availability

Available now, AD:reporter is sold to enterprises according to a per Administrator pricing model. Javelina Software offers each ADvantage Element at $300 per Administrator, which includes one year of technical support at no additional charge. ADvantage v2.0, nearly double in size, is still available at $995 per admin copy.
